Another true favorite place is our living room. Especially in winter, many guests are drawn here – to sip a hot chocolate after a snowy walk, get lost in a good book, or enjoy a relaxed chat with loved ones. For those who enjoy good company, the day winds down perfectly at the bar – with a glass of fine wine or a little herbal schnapps to toast to good health.
And then there’s our Stüberl – just as authentic as Hotel Gassner itself. A place full of character, where you can almost feel the history of the house.
First and foremost: skiing and snowboarding. The Wildkogel Arena, our local ski resort, is practically right on our doorstep – with the downhill run leading directly behind the hotel. As a family-friendly resort, it’s perfect for those who enjoy skiing at a relaxed pace. Wide slopes, clearly marked runs, and an easy start make skiing and snowboarding especially enjoyable here. For kids, there are dedicated practice lifts and ski schools. Looking for more kilometers of slopes? The KitzSki area and Zillertal Arena are just a short drive away – ideal for advanced skiers and all who can’t get enough of the snow.
Winter fun continues off the slopes, too: from Monday to Friday, our hiking guides takes you on guided winter and snowshoe hikes – through calm forests, along sunny winter paths, and to peaceful scenic spots. They know the most beautiful places and always senses when it’s time to pause and simply enjoy the moment. To make sure you’re fully equipped, our winter hiking service package is included for you as our guest – with backpack, snowshoes, poles, and the best excursion tips.
And if you’re in the mood for even more adventure: a traditional toboggan run is sure to boost your energy and bring a big smile to your face. You can hire toboggans (for a fee) at our reception.
